Leather Wax

from $10.00

Oils and waxes were the original waterproofing and conditioners for leather boots and other garments. Our Leather Wax conditions and restores/provides a long-lasting and durable coating for leather boots, their stitching and welts.

Elixir’s Leather Wax combines natural waxes with a touch of polymerizing oils to create a dense and easy-to-apply product. Designed to provide moisture protection and durability, apply it to new or previously waxed boots to provide or restore a waterproofing finish. Unlike straight oils, this wax blend will not encourage stretching or loss of shape. Our Leather Wax is made from beeswax and a combination of other plant-based waxes and oils that naturally enhance workability and penetration. Unlike many boot waterproofing treatments, Elixir’s leather wax does not derive from petroleum distillates. This wax can also be applied to belts, gloves, bike seats and any other leather garments for conditioning and restoration.

Where to Use:

For waterproofing and conditioning leather footwear, bags, belts and more.

How to Use:

Before application of wax, thoroughly clean boot exterior with warm, soapy water. Remove dirt, grit, and other build-up. Remove laces. Allow to thoroughly dry in low heat. For best results, apply product to the leather with hands or saturated cloth one section at a time, overlapping application to create a uniform penetration and finish. Work the wax into the leather. Use fingers to work the wax into and around corners, stitching, seams, eyelets, and hooks. Application of heat from a blow dryer can help – warm the waxed leather to soften, not melt, the wax. Allow to penetrate and dry for at least 12 hours before using boots. Note that application will darken the color of most leathers. Click here to see a how to video.
