We have created a world of useful articles from nature – woods, fabrics, leather, to name a few. But the look, texture, and even the integrity of so many of these things can slip away with use or just exposure to the elements.
Nothing lasts forever – but so many of these fine things can be enjoyed for generations if their finish and fiber are simply cared for. To that end, I have prepared a family of ELIXIRS to help – they’re not potions full of magic, but their effect on your woods, fabrics, and leathers can seem to be so.
All offered to you by a woman-owned and -operated source for wood-leather-canvas treatments. Prepared from only natural ingredients – beeswax or plant-based oils and waxes and scents. No petroleum-based ingredients. And our containers are designed to make a difference too – only glass and metal, recyclable and reusable. One percent of gross profits are donated to The Pollinator Partnership, a non-profit that supports the global health of pollinators, through conservation, education and research.
An ELIXIR you’ve been looking for!
There must be a story back of any worthwhile undertaking. So here’s mine. My work and enjoyment have always been in the outdoors. Along the way I developed many interests, in art, custom woodcraft, and blacksmithing, as well as gardening and amateur beekeeping.
One winter, I lost my entire bee population. Having thereby come into an unexpected supply of beeswax I decided to investigate its use in wood finishes. Waxes led to oils, oils led to butters. Before I knew it, I had worked out recipes for conditioning and preserving all my own woodcraft projects. Things didn’t stop there. Soon I concocted waxes to coat my favorite outdoor gear - there is nothing like a freshly waxed canvas jacket and waterproofed boots to get you anywhere in Idaho’s crazy weather!
