Butcher Block Butter

from $10.00

Now you can finish and maintain your cutting boards, wooden utensils and knife handles in one step with food-safe Butcher Block Butter. Our Butcher Block Butter combines the penetrating power of oil with the durable finish of wax- rejuvenating the wood and protecting it.

Wooden butcher blocks and cutting boards take a beating- no matter how well-made, they and other wooden cooking utensils require proper maintenance to last. Without regular treatment, they will dry out, crack, discolor and even support the growth of mold. Elixir’s Butcher Block Butter is a special blend of oils and waxes that keeps the wood conditioned and sealed. 100% food-safe and free of synthetics, this butter is meant for brand-new items or for reconditioning your old favorites. Our butter contains a blend of beeswax and other plant-based food safe oils and waxes. One-and-done or apply additional coats for more protection. Either way, your wood gets a rich, new finish, and repels moisture and foods. Our Butcher Block Butter is a perfect accessory for any new cutting board gift.

Where to Use:

Butcher blocks, cutting boards, wood bowls and platters, wood utensils, knife handles.

How to Use:

If necessary, prepare or repair the wood surface by progressively fine sanding. Finish sanding with fine grit (220 – 400). Apply a generous coat of butter, covering the entire surface and applying additional product where the surface appears to be drying. After 2 to 4 hours, wipe away the excess and buff to a satin finish. Allow to dry. Repeat until desired number of coats and appearance is achieved. After your final coat, allow 24 - 48

hours for surface to become dry to touch. May take up to 1 week to be fully dry to touch and up to 4 weeks for full cure. Low temperature or high humidity can lengthen drying and curing times. Click here to see a how to video.
